Frequently Asked Questions…
-
Where are you located?
We are located at 525 E Plumb Ln. Suite B, Reno NV 89502, right behind Mai Tai’s Beauty Styling Salon.
-
What are your rates?
We charge $100 for minimums and $200 hourly. (Minimums are tattoos that take 30 minutes or less)
Keep in mind that our artists do post originals for fixed rates sometimes, so be sure to check out their socials to grab a sweet deal!
-
How do I make an appointment?
The easiest and fastest way to book is to fill out our online booking form: caliloustattoos.com/contact
From then on, if your piece is accepted, we will reach out to schedule a consultation appointment to make sure that both artist and client come to an understanding before anything permanent is done.
If you choose to book, a $100 deposit will be needed in order to secure a spot in their calendars.
-
Do you charge for consultations?
We do not charge for consultations! All consultations are free of charge, however, if you feel comfortable with your artist and do decide to book, a $100 deposit will be needed to secure a spot in their calendar.
If you need more time to think, no pressure! We’ll hold on to your paperwork for a week to give you a moment to decide.
If you do not reach out before 7 business days, we will ask that you request another consultation in order to freshen up our memory. Reminder, there’s only two of us, and a bunch of tattoos!
-
How does my deposit work?
If you feel comfortable making a tattoo appointment with your artist after the consultation, before you schedule your session, they will ask for a $100 deposit. This deposit will be taken off the final price of your last session with your artist.
Deposits secure your spot in their calendar and ensure that the artists will still be compensated for their time in the instance of:
No call no showing your appointment
Cancelling your appointment before the 72hr mark
Frequent rescheduling and the hours of off-skin labor such as hours spent drawing, finding a replacement appointment, and so on.
-
What is your cancellation/rescheduling policy?
If you cannot make it to your appointment, we will need a minimum of a 72hr notice.
If you cancel without 72hr notice, your deposit will be forfeit and you’ll have to put down another $100 in order to rebook.
Three consecutive reschedules will also result in your deposit being forfeit. *Please note that if your artist cancels and has to reschedule, that does not go towards your three reschedules.
We understand that life happens! However, if we are not tattooing, we are not making money. Please be respectful and remember that the deposit is to ensure that our artists get compensated for their time.
-
Do you tattoo minors?
Although Nevada law states that minors may get tattooed with proper documentation and parental consent, we do not offer this service.
Please come back when you’re 18+!
-
What is the best way to get an estimate for my tattoo?
Tattoo prices vary due to concept complexity, style, and size.
We always recommend booking a free in person consultation appointment to get a proper price range!
-
Why do we book consultation appointments before tattoos?
Consultations allow our artists to gather information they’ll need in order to create the perfect piece for you!
Not only do consultations also allow the artists to give you a proper price estimate, they work to ensure that everyone’s on the right page before anything permanent is done.
-
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring:
A government issued, valid ID for paperwork
Proper payment method (we take both cash and card)
Any playthings to keep you occupied (headphones, iPads, books, etc)! *For silent sessions, these are a must!
-
How can I prepare for my tattoo?
Eat a full meal at least 1 hr before your appointment (snacks do not count as a meal!) People most often faint because they have an empty or near empty stomach while getting tattooed.
Wear clothes that leaves the area of your future tattoo easily accessible
Trust the process!
-
Can I bring a visitor?
You may bring one friend at a time!
Please do not invite more than one person per visit. The studio can easily get packed and make it harder for both you and your artist to concentrate.
-
Why was my concept denied?
The tattoo journey is a two-way street… the consent of the client is just as important as the artist’s consent to start a project!
Unfortunately, sometimes stylistically we aren’t compatible. Don’t let that deter you though! We’re more than happy to hear out any other ideas and try to make something happen.
